On April 15th, four Tea Parties were scheduled in Los Angeles County: one in Van Nuys in the San Fernando Valley, one in Long Beach, one in Glendale (many outraged fellow Armenians, methinks!), and one right here in Island Country, Santa Clarita, from 4 to 7 PM. That’s the one I attended.
The weather was blustery for Southern Commiefornia: at 4:15 PM when I arrived; the thermometer in my car said it was 58 degrees, and WHOA! Was it windy! We’ve had the Santa Anas blowing for a few days, now.
There were several hundred people already there, and work hadn’t even let out yet. Good turnout, which only increased as time went on… and bear in mind: for SoComm, we are a small city! I have to assume the other three had even larger turnouts.
So, a few pictures. Note that the sidewalks on all sides of the intersection were mobbed with good people.
A great time was had by all. Nothing like sticking your collective thumbs in the collective eyes of the political hacks in Sacramento and Washington, DC!
